Each school has:
Mission– the school’s purpose – why do we exist?
– what we want to do
– how will we know we are succeeding
– what will we do to ensure success Vision – what we can become – where are we headed? Goals – short-term targets to get us to our vision
When? District plan to be complete end of March. DFES plan final due May?? We’ll meet Tuesday afternoons, committee decisions about when to meet, nights weekends (not really) How? Steering committee, input from stakeholders via e-mail, meetings, subcommittee reports
SMART GOALS
S – Specific and Strategic – specific refers to clarity and strategic refers to alignment with our mission and vision
M - Measurable - quantifiable A - Attainable – success is realistic R -Results-Oriented – desired end result – not process for getting there T - Time-Bound – when will the goal be accomplished
Goals will be aligned with the district’s goals but specific to DFES. Based on student data, the goals will include but are not limited to: 1.Student Achievement – math, reading, science, socials studies, technology some or all as appropriate) 2.AYP goals – students with IEP’s will meet achievement levels in reading and math 3.School Climate – (Parent involvement, safe and healthy schools, etc.) 4.Teacher/Administrator Quality
